What is The Work Station?

The Work Station houses the OhioMeansJobs center for Athens County and also provides a home for several community partners. We offer FREE employment training and support services for businesses, job seekers and the community.

Hours of operation:

Monday-Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The Work Station is a member of Ohio's Area 14 OhioMeansJobs system, along with Meigs and Perry counties.

As a local workforce investment area, these three county offices form a comprehensive workforce development system that integrates Ohio's economic development, workforce development, and education and training systems into a cohesive and effective system.

Employment counselors can assist with job placement and recruitment through the Ohio Means Jobs website; job fairs; use of our facility for application disbursement and interviewing; training services and much more. State launches new Veteran Business Support Center

The state has launched the new Veteran Business Support Center, a resource for employers interested in hiring veterans.

The center can assist employers with:

• Posting jobs, screening resumes and using the other tools at
• Locating qualified veteran candidates
• Finding and preparing for career fairs, workshops and other hiring events
• Information about the Work Opportunity Tax Credit and other workforce development and hiring incentive programs for employers who hire veterans
• Demographic information about veterans in any given area

The center connects employers with trained veteran employment representatives via phone, email and/or face-to-face meetings at local OhioMeansJobs Centers, like The Work Station. Job and Family Services veteran employment representatives have an in-depth understanding of the job markets they serve and how veterans in their areas can help your organization.
